The Healthvocate Academy.
A community-based training program for people who want to be health advocates — in their own neighborhoods, in their own languages, for the people they know and love.
We're building this with our community. Be the first to know when enrollment opens.
What we're building
The Healthvocate Academy is Project Healthvocate's next chapter — a structured, community-rooted training program that certifies everyday people as health advocates for the communities around them.
We believe the most trusted health resource in any neighborhood is often a neighbor, not a clinic. The Academy invests in those relationships — giving people the knowledge, tools, and credentials to show up for their communities in a meaningful way.
This isn't just a training program. It's the foundation of a health advocacy network built from the ground up — community by community.
What the Academy will offer
Certification Training
A structured curriculum covering health literacy, patient rights, appointment navigation, insurance basics, and culturally responsive communication — designed for people without a medical background.
Community Cohorts
Learn alongside a cohort of advocates from your community. Build relationships, share experiences, and grow together through the program.
Practical Advocacy Skills
Real-world tools and practice — from how to support someone at a doctor's appointment to how to run a community health workshop.
Ongoing Support & Network
Graduates join a growing network of certified Healthvocate advocates — with access to continued learning, mentorship, and community connection.
